Abstract

Kesiut Village in Tabanan Regency, Bali, is designated as a national priority village. It is an agricultural community where most residents earn their living as rice farmers and much of the land consists of rice fields. Agricultural management involves farmers groups, including the Bakti Pertiwi Farmers Group. The group has 15 members, each owning more than 1,000 square meters of rice fields. They manage their fields collectively, but still face several difficulties. Priority problems include the substantial cost of renting a rice threshing machine after harvest and the improper use of rice straw. This Community Partnership Program seeks to address those problems. To support harvesting, the program will introduce rice threshing technology. Rice straw, a harvest by-product, will be processed into compost. Instead of being burned, this nutrient-bearing material can become more useful to farmers, support environmentally friendly practices, and provide additional economic value.
