Diary Coding ("we", "this site") respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect when you use diarycoding.com, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

1. Information we collect

Visitor counter. We record visits anonymously using a one-way hash of your session ID, solely to count unique visitors. This hash cannot be reversed into your identity and is never linked to other personal data.

Session and security cookies. We use standard session cookies and a CSRF token so the site can function safely (for example, forms and the writer/admin area). These cookies are technical in nature and expire automatically.

Language preference. When you choose Indonesian or English, that choice is stored in a cookie for 1 year so you don't have to select it again on future visits.

Documents uploaded to the Document Converter. PDF/Word files you upload for conversion are stored temporarily on our server, processed in an isolated environment, and then automatically deleted (within 1 hour at the latest, or as soon as the converted file is downloaded). We do not read or share the contents of your documents with any third party.

Information we do not ask for. You do not need to create an account or provide a name, email, or phone number to read articles, search publications, or use the tools on this site.

2. Google AdSense and advertising cookies

This site uses Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DART cookie) to serve ads based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.

You may opt out of interest-based advertising cookies via Google Ads Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies for interest-based advertising via www.aboutads.info/choices.

3. How we use data

Anonymous data such as the visitor counter is used solely to understand how much this site is visited and to improve content quality. We do not sell visitor data to any third party.

4. Your rights over your data (GDPR/CCPA)

If you are located in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or California, you have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a copy of any personal data we hold about you, as well as the right to object to its processing. Because we do not collect personal identity data (see section 1), most such requests will be limited to cookies stored on your device — which you can delete yourself at any time through your browser settings. EU/UK users also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.

5. Links to other sites

Articles and journal pages on this site sometimes link to external sources (for example, a journal publisher's page, a DOI, or a news source). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third-party sites.

6. Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Data security

We apply reasonable safeguards (HTTPS connections, encrypted passwords for writer/admin accounts) to protect the data we store. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is 100% secure.

This policy may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the most recent revision.
